BIOGRAPHY

The artistry of SCUCCIMARRI MIKE is a relentless pursuit of the convergence between reality and the dream world. A Master of Fine Arts graduate from ARTS² in Mons and trained in both jazz and classical piano at the Academy of Arts of the City of Brussels, Mike Scuccimarri is an artist whose inspiration springs from the depths of the unconscious, dreams, and imagination to express the true workings of thought.

His work is characterized by an automatic writing and drawing technique, free from the constraints of logic, allowing the inner voice of the unconscious to express itself unfettered. Music, the Italian Renaissance, Surrealism, cinema, and African art are perpetual sources of inspiration for him. Their influence is evident in his quest for a more authentic representation of his spiritual universe.

SCUCCIMARRI MIKE’s paintings are replete with symbols that he employs as a living language, ever-evolving. These symbols enable him to portray life in all its facets, exploring themes as diverse as love, dreams, death, and violence. In essence, he draws inspiration from everyday life, humanity, its history, and its evolution.

The unconscious guides SCUCCIMARRI MIKE in his creations.

His compositions emerge freely from the amalgamation of spontaneous ideas, reflecting a creative liberty that transcends the boundaries of reality and fantasy

SCUCCIMARRI MIKE employs a mixed-media technique, which is a bold fusion of materials, mediums, and textures, offering a visual richness and conceptual depth to his creations. This approach allows him to push the boundaries of traditional artistic expression by combining painting, collage, sculpture, and sometimes photography within a single piece.

Each of Mike’s creations is an exploration of juxtaposition, where spontaneity plays a pivotal role. He does not shy away from incorporating found objects or unconventional materials into his canvases, resulting in scenes that challenge the viewer’s expectations and awaken their imagination. The mixed-media technique offers him unprecedented freedom, where each brushstroke can reveal surprising and powerful effects.

Mike Scuccimarri continues to develop his unique visual language. Varied textures, and vibrant colors are central to his work, inviting viewers into a dreamlike state of contemplation. His work is a true exercise in letting go, inviting spectators to immerse themselves in a universe where art becomes an endless aesthetic journey
